Ergonomics Case Study Competition 2026 Poster

The Ontario Ergonomics System Committee (ESC) is launching a collaborative case study competition through the MSD Prevention Guideline for Ontario to highlight practical, worker-centered ergonomic improvements in workplaces across the province.

 

WHO CAN ENTER?

Three entry levels, judged separately 

  • Workplace: Employer, Supervisor, Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC) Member, Worker Health and Safety Representative (HSR), Union Representative 
  • Professional: Ergonomist, Health and Safety (H&S) Specialist, Engineer, Designer
  • Student: Undergraduate, Post-Graduate, Graduate

     

CATEGORIES

  • Hazard control solutions 
  • Program based solutions
    • Application of the MSD Prevention Guideline
  • Small business (<50 employees) 
    • Application of the Quick Start Guideline

       

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Case studies that demonstrate: 

  • MSD risk reduction 
  • Worker & JHSC involvement (how did workers help drive change?) 
  • Controls implemented (what solutions were introduced?) 
  • Impact on health & safety (improved comfort, reduced pain, better processes, etc.) 
  • Business impact (beyond MSD risk reduction) 
  • Continuous improvement (how are you monitoring success over time?)
