The Ontario Ergonomics System Committee (ESC) is launching a collaborative case study competition through the MSD Prevention Guideline for Ontario to highlight practical, worker-centered ergonomic improvements in workplaces across the province.
WHO CAN ENTER?
Three entry levels, judged separately
- Workplace: Employer, Supervisor, Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC) Member, Worker Health and Safety Representative (HSR), Union Representative
- Professional: Ergonomist, Health and Safety (H&S) Specialist, Engineer, Designer
Student: Undergraduate, Post-Graduate, Graduate
CATEGORIES
- Hazard control solutions
- Program based solutions
- Application of the MSD Prevention Guideline
- Small business (<50 employees)
Application of the Quick Start Guideline
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Case studies that demonstrate:
- MSD risk reduction
- Worker & JHSC involvement (how did workers help drive change?)
- Controls implemented (what solutions were introduced?)
- Impact on health & safety (improved comfort, reduced pain, better processes, etc.)
- Business impact (beyond MSD risk reduction)
Continuous improvement (how are you monitoring success over time?)
