Quick Exposure Checklist (QEC)

Developed by: Washington State Department of Labor and Industries; Robens Centre for Health Ergonomics (original Quick Exposure Checklist design)

Description: The reference guide provides an introduction, information about how to use the QEC, how to interpret the QEC questions, score the assessment, interpret scores, discusses interventions and reassessment, and provides a copy of the QEC in the appendix of the document.

The QEC uses a combination of observer assessment and worker responses about posture, frequency, effort and shift length to generate whole body and specific region (back, shoulder/arm, wrist/hand, neck) risk assessment scores. It considers exposure to other factors such as driving, vibration, work pace, and stress.
