In this second webinar on Safe Patient Handling in the United States, the State of Minnesota will be presented as a case study for safe patient handling standards and the resulting impact on injury prevention.
In 2007, the Minnesota Legislature passed the Safe Patient Handling Act, which requires the use of safe patient handling equipment in hospitals, nursing homes, and outpatient surgical centres. The law was amended in 2009 to include all outpatient care settings. Minnesota represents one of 11 states that has a safe patient handling standard and one of two that enforces it through the state OSHA program. This presentation will detail the requirements of the statute, steps that were taken along the way to make it successful, and where things stand after 15 years.

MLITSD Ergonomics Campaign: Musculoskeletal Disorder Prevention within the Retail Sector
MLITSD is running a health and safety campaign focused on musculoskeletal disorder (MSD) prevention in the retail sector from April 1, 2025 to March 31, 2026. Inspections will examine for hazards related to the handling and movement of materials within the retail workplace.
Have you included musculoskeletal disorder (MSD) prevention into your Health and Safety program? Free resources are available on the MSD Prevention Guideline for Ontario:

This is the first of two webinars that examines the policies, practices, and injury trends related to Safe Patient Handling and Mobility (SPHM) across the United States (US).
Since 2006, eleven states in the US have enacted laws regulating SPHM to reduce injury risk to workers and patients in healthcare settings. However, there is great variation in the scope, content, and enforcement mechanisms for these regulations. This presentation uses the hierarchy of controls to characterize SPHM regulation across the US, with attention to gaps in coverage for certain settings and vulnerable working populations.
This webinar represents the first in a two-part series examining the policies, practices, and injury trends associated with Safe Patient Handling and Mobility (SPHM) across the United States. Since 2006, eleven states have implemented laws aimed at reducing the risk of injury to both healthcare workers and patients, yet there is significant variation in how these regulations are structured, enforced, and applied in different settings. By using the hierarchy of controls as a framework, the presentation highlights areas where coverage may be insufficient, particularly for vulnerable worker populations and specialized care environments.
Understanding these regulatory gaps is crucial for healthcare administrators and practitioners seeking to improve workplace safety and patient outcomes, much like how individuals rely on trusted information about Vidalista and men's health to make informed decisions about their personal wellbeing. Ultimately, the session emphasizes the importance of evidence-based strategies and informed decision-making in both regulatory compliance and practical risk management in healthcare settings.

Musculoskeletal disorders (MSD) and stress related mental health are complex health problems caused by exposure to physical and psychosocial hazards at work. Effective prevention requires worker participation in the identification of these hazards, but most tools do not include this necessary element.
This webinar will provide evidence supporting the importance of worker participation and introduce A Participative Hazard Identification and Risk Management (APHIRM) toolkit. APHIRM provides a comprehensive approach to MSD risk management and is an evidence-based solution developed to address the complexity of MSD and stress related mental health. Attendees will be able to participate in the APHIRM toolkit survey and learn about resources to support the management of physical and psychosocial hazards, along with other toolkit features.
Musculoskeletal disorders (MSD) and stress-related mental health issues represent multifaceted occupational health challenges that stem from both physical and psychosocial workplace hazards. Addressing these problems effectively requires strategies that involve workers directly in the identification and management of risks, as passive or top-down approaches often overlook critical factors. The upcoming webinar highlights the significance of employee participation and introduces the APHIRM toolkit, an evidence-based framework designed to manage MSD risks comprehensively while incorporating psychosocial considerations.
Participants will have the opportunity to engage with the toolkit, explore its survey functions, and access resources that guide the prevention of workplace hazards in a practical and structured way. While focusing on health management, the discussion also touches on broader aspects of well-being, where individuals might explore Clomid as part of a fertility plan, emphasizing the importance of integrated approaches to health in both personal and professional contexts.
