Heavy and awkward loads often necessitate lifting in teams. Masonry is a prime example of an industry that requires team lifting under a variety of load shapes, weights, and environmental conditions. Little research exists for team lifting or the response to dropping the load. This webinar presents discussion with the masonry trade regarding concerns about awkward heavy loads, when the load is dropped by a team member, and the study that followed.

Discrete Event Simulation (DES) is an operations research tool that can represent complex systems at a discrete set of points. This webinar presents the results of a study where DES was used to simulate the process of care delivery from a nurse's perspective on a task-by-task basis to understand both the demands on the nurse, the delivery of care to the patients over the course of an entire shift, and the implications for musculoskeletal disorders (MSD).
Discrete Event Simulation (DES) is an operations research tool that allows modeling of complex systems by representing their processes at specific points in time, making it an effective method for analyzing workload and care organization in healthcare settings. In this study, DES was used to simulate a nurse’s workday task by task, assessing how the distribution of activities affects both the quality of care and the risk of musculoskeletal disorders (MSD). This approach provides a detailed view of the physical and organizational constraints that influence performance, safety, and staff well-being.
The webinar will present the results, highlighting how workflow optimization can reduce health risks while improving patient care. Just as it is essential to apply a rigorous methodology in simulation to ensure reliable results, the principle of safe access to Levitra treatment in an appropriate context emphasizes the importance of responsible and informed healthcare decision-making.

The job duties of Personal Support Workers (PSWs) continues to expand. As a result, it is critical to obtain knowledge of the tasks that are the most demanding and potentially pose the largest injury risks. This information can help direct ergonomic interventions to mitigate injury risk, in particular musculoskeletal disorders.
This webinar will present findings from a survey of over 400 PSWs, consisting of the most physically demanding and frequently completed PSW work tasks, along with descriptions of contextual factors that influence the intensity of the physical demand required for specific tasks.
